EOS Solar announces open house

UNION (Sep 5): EOS Solar, a Maine based manufacturer of evacuated tube solar hot water systems has announced that they will have an Open House and presentation about Solar Thermal products on Oct. 6, at 1 p.m. to coincide with the National Solar Tour.

"Energy comes at a very high price, and it can be measured in more ways than just money. It has become a political, ecological, and ethical issue that can finally be
resolved by individuals, in their own homes and businesses." says Steve Stinson, Sales Manager of EOS Solar. "By installing EOS Solar Thermal systems, people can feel better about the prices they pay for energy."

"Most people are unaware that heating domestic hot water is one of the most demanding uses of energy annually in the home." says Nate Greenleaf, R&D Director for EOS Solar. "Typically, this is accomplished by burning a greenhouse gas emitting fossil fuel either remotely (electric), or on-site (oil / LP gas). By installing an EOS Solar hot water system, which pre-heats the water before it even enters your traditional hot water heater, the average family of four using an electric hot water heater can reduce their annual load from around 18 million btus of fossil fuels burned, down to about 4," he says. "This would drive their costs down from around $900 a year to about $150."

They would also reduce their ecological footprint. There is little debate now that CO2 emissions have had a large influence upon global warming, and that their reduction is important to the future of our planet. EU leaders recently agreed in a bid to reduce the impact of climate change to drop their greenhouse gas emissions by 20% by 2020." Our family of four would go from emitting almost 8,500 lbs. of CO2 emissions a year down to around 1,700 lbs. annually. Yeah..." Greenleaf says, "it's that staggering."
